What The Prime Minister Saw On His Tour of Flood Affected Nepal
On August 14, the fourth day after large parts of Nepal began to experience deadly floods, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, visited some flood affected areas. By the time of this visit, more than 70 people had been confirmed dead and tens of thousands affected.
Today, the Cabinet is going to decide on a flood relief policy, with focus on how to manage public efforts which have preceded government efforts.
“I have spoken to several relevant authorities on this matter, and I hope what they decide during the cabinet meeting today will reflect a policy that strengthens the coordination between public and government efforts,” MP Gagan Thapa told Onward Nepal this morning. Read here.
